CLOTHING REQUIREMENTS

2015-2016 Season

PROPER CLOTHING MUST BE WORN FOR ALL CLASSES.  IF YOU DO NOT DRESS CORRECTLY, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO DANCE.  PLEASE ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING CLOTHING REQUIREMENTS.

*All required clothing can be purchased at Interplay or PSB except for Character Shoes, Hip Hop Shoes and Tap Shoes. Please note that satin ballet shoes are not sold anywhere in Toronto area except for at Interplay & the PSB Store. No jewelry or gum chewing is permitted in any class.

  

Creative Movement 1&2 

Pink tank style leotard (Capezio #CC201C), pink Mondor ankle socks, pink satin full sole or leather full sole ballet slippers.

Hair in a bun and off face and neck

Pre-Primary, Primary Ballet 
Pink tank style leotard (Capezio #CC201C), pink ankle socks, pink skirts (Mondor #16207), pink satin full sole slippers. 

Hair in a bun and off face and neck

RAD Grade 1, 2, 3, 4 Ballet

Navy tank style leotard (Capezio #CC201C, CC201A), pink tights, pink satin full sole ballet slippers, black character shoes (low heel-Gr. 1&2, cuban heel-Gr. 3)

Hair in a bun and off face and neck

RAD Grade 5-6 Ballet - Teen Ballet

Navy pinched style leotard (Mondor  #3033/#1633), pink convertible tights, pink canvas split sole ballet slippers, black character shoes (cuban heel)

Hair in a bun and off face and neck

RAD 7-8, Intermediate Ballet

Black leotard (Ainslie Leotard #AW103A), pink convertible tights, pink canvas split sole ballet slippers, black character shoes (cuban heel), pointe shoes. Ask teacher prior to purchasing . Hair in a bun and off face and neck

Modern / Contemporary / Lyrical

Any black tank style leotard, footless or convertible tights, black jazz, bare feet (black jazz shorts and footundeez are optional)

Hair off face and in a ponytail

Jazz

Any black tank style leotard, black tights, black jazz shoes, senior students may wear black jazz pants or jazz shorts

Hair off face and in a ponytail for all classes

Jazz/Tap combination classes

Any black tank style leotard, black tights, black jazz shoes, black tap shoes (black jazz shorts are optional).

Hair off face and in a ponytail

Tap Dance

Any Black tank style leotard, black tights, black shoes

Hair off face and in a ponytail

Hip Hop

Any fitted t-shirt or tank top, Loose fitting track pants, socks,  black hip hop shoes or solid black indoor runners (shoes must not have any colour anywhere – it must be solid black including laces and soles).

Hair off face and in a ponytail.

Acro

Any leotard with bare legs and feet.

Hair pulled back off of face in a ponytail.

*All required clothing can be purchased at Interplay or PSB except for boys clothing. Boys clothing can be purchased at the Shoe Room. Please note that satin ballet shoes are not sold anywhere in Toronto area except for at Interplay & the PSB Store.

 Intensive Ballet Program 

Girls 

Hair in a Bun and off face and neck

**No Sports bras or any visible bra straps are permitted in any Ballet classes.

Intensive 1a/b   Leotard (pink- Ainslee #AW115), pink Mondor socks M167, pink satin full sole ballet slippers, Black low heel character shoes

Intensive 2,3,4  Ainslie Leotard - periwinkle blue, AW-101 pink convertible tights,  pink canvas split sole ballet slippers, pointe shoes (discretion of teacher)

Intensive 5,6    Ainslie Leotard (burgundy AW-102), pink convertible tights, pink canvas split sole ballet slippers, pointe shoes – 2 pairs at all times.

Intensive 7,8   Ainslie Leotard (navy-AW-110), pink convertible tights, pink canvas split sole ballet slippers, pointe shoes – 2 pairs at all times.

Boys

Intensive 1-6    MStevens Leotard #1504, Wear Moi Tights #1097 1grey, white Freed dance socks #4788,white canvas split sole ballet slippers, dance belt of your choice

Intensive Jazz, Lyrical & Contemporary/Modern Program 

**Socks are not permitted in an Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary or Modern classes.

Intensive 1-3   Ainslie Leotard – AW102 – Black, Black tights, bare feet for modern, Bloch jazz  

                         shoes for jazz

                        Hair in ponytail and off face and neck

Intensive 4-8   Ainslie Leotard – AW103A – Black, Black jazz pants or Body Wrappers Dance Shorts, bare feet for modern, Bloch jazz shoes for jazz

                         Hair in ponytail and off face and neck

Intensive 3-8 - Knee pads mandatory for jazz classes, theraband needed for ballet and pointe     classes

Boys – same as above except the Wear Moi Tights may be in black if wish – correct foot wear

Lululemon tank tops or any other tank tops are not permitted in any classes.  Optional leotard in Profile rehearsals only.

Ballet Warm Up clothing

Warm up clothing is to be worn for plies and tendus only – then removed.  If you need to warm up further, please do so prior to class.

  

Jazz & Modern Warm Up clothing

Warm up clothing is permitted for 15 minutes into class time and then removed

Company & Competitive Clothing

A company jacket and black yoga Interplay/PSB pants are mandatory for both company and competitive students.

Early Registration Dates for Interplay 2015/2016 Year

Dear Parents and Students,

 Please mark your calendars for early registration dates at Interplay as Wednesday, June 17th and Thursday, June 18th 2015 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. Please come to the studio at 250 Davisville Ave, Unit 502 on either of those dates to register in person for the 2015/2016 dance year. Staff will be on site for any questions regarding registration.

Early registration will also be accepted by e-mail (staff@interplay-dance.ca), or by fax (416-972-1497) up to and including Thursday, June 18th 2015.

Interplay Recreational Ticket Sales Information

Hello everyone,

Ticket sales for the upcoming June shows will be available for purchase
on Sunday May 10th at 00.01 a.m. Parents will be initially permitted to
purchase 2 tickets only unless there is a 3rd ticket needed for a
sibling in the immediate family.

If you wish to open an account prior to the sales, you may do so by
viewing onstagedirect.com. This way you are ready to select your tickets
promptly on May 10th. Please buy your tickets with your child's last
name so that we can make sure that all families have tickets. Please
make sure you know which show your child is dancing in before purchasing
tickets to avoid any errors.
All emails in regards to your child's show date and time has been sent
out to you by our office weeks ago. Please double check past emails
prior to emailing the office as we are very busy at this time with the
intensive May shows and would appreciate it very much.

If parents wish to see any of the intensive shows, you are welcome to go
on line as those tickets are already on sale. It would be great for you
and your child to see where they are able to participate in if they so wish.

All parents are guaranteed 2 tickets for the first 2 weeks of ticket
sales. On May 24th, tickets will be open for all other ticket
purchases. After this date, we can no longer guarantee tickets. Please
do not wait to purchase tickets. We don't wish any disappointed
families. All seats are wonderful in the theater and I am sure you will
be very happy.

A reminder that all children age 1 and up will require a seat. All
children 13 and up will require a student ticket. University students
are able to purchase student tickets.

Photography and video taping is not permitted in the theater. You may
take photos at then end of the show when all students are on stage.

Interplay Yearend Shows 2015

   Dear Interplay families,

   The tickets for the Interplay year-end show in May for Intensive classes are on sale now. There is a maximum of two tickets per family, with exception for families with more than one child in the show for whom two tickets per student is available for purchase. On Wednesday April 22, 2015 ticket sales will open up if families wish to purchase more than two. Reminders will be sent daily until the tickets are on sale.

   An account for purchasing tickets should be set up at the following website: www.onstagedirect.com. Please include the name of the child with your order so we know who has purchased. Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis so it is highly suggested to not delay in ordering tickets to avoid any disappointment. The show and rehearsal schedule has been emailed to all families. All rehearsals and shows will be held at The Betty Oliphant Theatre (404 Jarvis St.).
